2009 Can-Am Outlander 800r
BRP has launched its 2009 line-up of Can-Am recreation-utility and recreation-sport ATVs for enthusiast riders. The product news for 2009 is best highlighted as More Power, Enhanced Looks and Style, and Better Frame Protection...
More Power:
The new 800R EFI version of the powerful liquid-cooled electronic fuel-injected 800cc Rotax® engine in OutlanderTM and RenegadeTM models gets 9% more top-end horsepower.
This 800R EFI engine powers Outlander and Renegade ATVs from 0-60 MPH (0-97 KM/H), almost one second faster than the previous year's 800 H.O. EFI engine.
The Rotax 800R EFI engine improves power delivery, bringing enthusiasts more manageable low RPM power for tight, technical situations, and higher horsepower when needed.
Enhanced Looks & Style:
Outlander 800R models get an exclusive new styling, with a new front fascia design featuring strong Can-Am DNA cues and the XT package version gets redesigned bumpers.
Renegade, DS 250® and Outlander all receive graphic updates and new coloration options.
The Outlander MAX 800R EFI LTD gets a new red coloration.
DS 250 gets a style update with new headlights.
Better Frame Protection:
All Outlander models receive a centre skid plate made of 5 mm thick, impact-and-scratch resistant, high-density, injection-molded polyethylene (HDPE).
And there's more to come. We will be announcing our 2009 Can-Am sport ATV line-up in August. You can get all the details on 2009 Can-Am at your local dealer or by going online.
The Heart of Can-Am Outlander, Renegade and DS 450 EFI ATVs
A Rotax engine is the heart of most of the Can-Am ATV and also a key factor in the success of BRP as global powersports company. Rotax has established a long legacy and a proven track record since the company was founded in Austria in 1920. BRP and Rotax first joined forces in 1962 to power a Ski-Doo snowmobile and in 1970, BRP and Rotax integrated.
Now in its 88th year of business, Rotax provides reliable, performance engines for the following BRP brands – Sea-Doo personal watercraft and sports boat, Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Can-Am Spyder Roadster, as well as Can-Am ATVs. Rotax also provides engines for Kart vehicles and ultra light aircraft, along with powering well-known motorcycles such as the Buell 1125R, BMW G650 Xmoto and the BMW F800 S.
As a recognized world leader in engine technology and innovation, BRP-Rotax has developed over 350 engine types and produced more than six million engines during the last century. Today, Rotax provides the engines that make Can-Am ATVs the most powerful in every category in which Can-Am competes.
